Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup medjool dates pitted and soaked
  • 1/2 cup coconut desiccated or shredded
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Equipment

  • food processor or blender

Method

  1. Add all ingredients to a food processor and blend until the mixture becomes well combined and slightly sticky.
  2. Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls using your hands. Depending on the size you make them, this recipe will produce approximately 12–15 bliss balls.
  3. Roll each bliss ball in desiccated coconut until evenly coated.
  4. Place the bliss balls in an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

  • Use whole rolled oats rather than quick oats for the best texture.
  • A food processor works best for blending the mixture smoothly and evenly.
  • A blender can also be used, although the mixture can be a little harder to scrape out compared to a food processor.
  • If your dates are firm, soak them in warm water for 5–10 minutes first.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
