Why You’ll Love These Lemon Coconut Bliss Balls

  • Easy no-bake recipe
  • Nut-free and lunchbox friendly
  • Naturally sweetened
  • Made with wholesome ingredients
  • Perfect for meal prep
  • Fresh lemon coconut flavour
  • Great healthy snack for kids and adults

Lemon Coconut Bliss Ball Ingredients

  • Rolled Oats – Whole rolled oats are rich in fibre, complex carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, helping to keep you full and satisfied for longer. Always use whole rolled oats rather than quick oats for the best texture and nutritional value. Note: Rolled oats are naturally gluten-free; however, they may be processed in facilities that handle gluten-containing grains, so use certified gluten-free oats if required.
  • Coconut Flakes – Unsweetened coconut flakes add texture and a delicious coconut flavour, while also providing dietary fibre and minerals like manganese and copper. Desiccated coconut can also be used if that is what you have on hand.
  • Coconut Oil – Unrefined coconut oil helps bind the mixture together and gives a smooth, creamy texture while adding healthy fats and a subtle coconut flavour. Unrefined coconut oil works best for both flavour and nutrition.
  • Maple Syrup – Pure maple syrup naturally sweetens the bliss balls without refined sugar and adds a gentle caramel-like flavour. Make sure to use pure maple syrup rather than maple-flavoured syrup for the best quality.
  • Lemons – Fresh lemon juice and zest give these bliss balls their bright, refreshing flavour. Lemons are also rich in vitamin C and antioxidants that support overall health and immunity.
  • Flax Meal (Ground Flaxseeds) – Flaxseeds are packed with omega-3 fatty acids and fibre, and grinding them into flax meal helps your body absorb their nutrients more effectively. It is best to grind flaxseeds fresh in a small blender or coffee grinder before adding them to the mixture.

How to Make the Lemon and Coconut Bliss Balls

  1. Put the dry ingredients into a food processor first and blend until the mixture is a fine texture.
  2. Add the wet ingredients and pulse until the mixture becomes sticky and starts to clump together.
  3. Scoop out small portions and roll into bite-sized balls using your hands. Depending on the size you make them, this recipe will make approximately 10–12 bliss balls.
  4. Roll each bliss ball in desiccated coconut and a little extra lemon zest for extra flavour.
  5. Place in an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow them to firm up.

Tips for Making the Lemon Coconut Bliss Balls

  • Use whole rolled oats rather than quick oats for the best texture.
  • A food processor gives the smoothest and easiest result, but a blender can also be used if needed.
  • A blender may be a little trickier to scrape out, especially from under the blades.
  • Fresh lemon juice and zest give the strongest flavour.
  • If the mixture feels too soft, chill it for 10–15 minutes before rolling.
  • If it feels too dry, add a small splash of lemon juice or a little extra coconut oil.
  • These bliss balls are ideal for meal prep and easy snacking throughout the week.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
